New chamber works. Distinct points-of-view. Story-songs. Hear (and meet!) the winners of the Inaugural Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Art Song competition at this special showcase event!

It’s finally here! The inaugural performance of OOO’s series “Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Art Song,” happening in Austin, Texas.

The 2016 Winners are:
The Passive-Aggressive’s Guide to Mother Goose by Ross Crean
Water Songs by Rain Nox
The Wind Among the Reeds and I Am Vocalist by Michael Mikulka
Thirteen Haiku by George N. Gianopoulos, with text by Jack Kerouac
The Last Words of Che Guevara by Tyler Mabry
Two Modern Love Songs by Griffin Candey
Five Mystic Songs for strings and voice by David C. Adams

Performers are One Ounce Opera Company Members Angela Irving, Brittany Santos, Dalton Flake, Danny Castillo, Jake Jacobsen, Jenny Ohrstrom, Julia Di Fiore, Julie Silva, and Maureen Papovich, with pianists Nikki Birdsong and Charmaine Flake. A string quartet will accompany one of the pieces.

Tickets may be purchased online for $15; $20 at the door. All seats are general admission.

Then, on Saturday, 11/19, OOO will round out our mini-art-song-festival with “A Sip and a Song,” a laid-back musicale at Butterfly Bar.
